Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Are your inks safe for toys intended for children?

Ans. Yes. Our inks are manufactured in compliance with international safety and regulatory standards, including EN-71, BIS 9873-3, RoHS, REACH (SVHC), and HASBRO SRS-018 & SRS-046 VOC. They are also tested to meet medical-grade and FDA requirements, ensuring they are completely safe for use on children’s toys.

Q2. Why is it so difficult to get ink to stick to certain toy materials?

Ans. The common materials with which the toys are made are usually polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and soft PVCs. These have very low surface energy, which prevents the adhesion of inks onto them. Without proper treatment, the ink usually rubs off, peels off, or fades off

Q3. How do you ensure ink sticks permanently to the "difficult" plastics?

Ans. Some sort of surface pretreatment or post-treatments need to be done for the ink to stick to difficult plastic surfaces.  By doing pre-treatments, the surface energy of the material is increased, making it ideal for inks to adhere.  Some examples of treatment of surfaces are Flame treatment and corona discharge.  These steps are important for permanent adhesion and durability.
